Where it all began

Warangal లో BSc Mathematics complete చేసి, ఒక mobile phone shop లో work చేస్తుండేదాన్ని. Phone repairs, accessories sell చేయడం, customers handle చేయడం. Monthly salary Rs 8,000. Maths degree తీసుకుని phone shop లో కూర్చోవడం -- ఆ feeling ని అర్థం చేసుకునే వాళ్ళకే తెలుసు.

నాకు always technology field లో work చేయాలని dream ఉండేది. School లో computers lab favorite ఉండేది. College లో programming basics నేర్చుకున్నాను. కానీ "BSc Maths graduate కి technology లో ఏం scope ఉంటుంది?" అని అందరూ అన్నారు.

THE DISCOVERY

A light in the dark

EDWartens advertisement ఒక YouTube video లో చూశాను. "Non-engineering graduates can become Automation Engineers" -- ఈ line నన్ను stop చేసింది. BSc graduates, Diploma holders -- అందరికీ training ఇస్తారు. International certification ఇస్తారు. Placement guarantee ఉంది.

THE TRANSFORMATION

Becoming an engineer

Course fee కోసం నేను 6 months savings collect చేశాను. Phone shop salary లో నుండి Rs 2,000 every month save చేశాను. Amma చిన్న amount help చేసింది. Remaining EMI arrange చేశాను.

AEP course లో join అయినప్పుడు, Maths background actually ఒక unexpected advantage అయింది! PLC programming లో logic -- Boolean algebra, sequential logic, mathematical operations -- ఇవన్నీ Maths లో base ఉంది. Ladder logic, function block diagrams -- ఇవి basically mathematical logic ని visual form లో represent చేస్తాయి. నేను batch లో PLC programming module లో topper అయ్యాను!

Chapter 4

THE TRIUMPH

Victory at last

VR training లో industrial panels, SCADA systems, motor control circuits -- అన్నీ virtually practice చేశాను. 14 PLC brands నేర్చుకున్నాను. Wartens UK CPD certification obtain చేశాను. Trainers నా Maths background ని leverage చేసి SCADA data analytics, process optimization concepts extra గా teach చేశారు.

Schneider Electric interview కి call వచ్చినప్పుడు -- nervousness ఉన్నా confidence ఎక్కువ ఉంది. PLC programming logic explanation, SCADA configuration demonstration -- interview panel impressed అయ్యారు. Rs 7.5 LPA offer!

Phone shop లో Rs 8,000 salary తీసుకున్న నేను, ఇప్పుడు Schneider Electric లో Rs 62,500 per month. ఆ phone shop owner ని recently కలిశాను. "Swathi, నువ్వు ఇక్కడ work చేసేదానివి -- ఇప్పుడు Schneider Electric లో Engineer!" ఆయన amazement లో నా journey ని అంతా ఉంది.
