Job simulations · included

Work a week at an Indian company, before your first interview

A job simulation is a working week at a company, on your screen: a desk with email, chat and documents, the workplace in 3D, and colleagues who give you real tasks. Here is the PLC Programmer week at Indrayani Controls.

  1. The PLC Programmer job simulation at Indrayani Controls, Pune: the 3D workplace at Indrayani Controls, Pune, with the team around the factory floor, the Start shift 1 button and the Sit at your desk button
1Arrive at the workplaceIndrayani Controls, a systems integrator in Chakan, Pune, building PET bottling line 2 for a beverage plant.
  2. The simulator's chat: asking an AI colleague (simulated) where to start on the day's work
2Read the morning email and ticketsThe day's work arrives by email, tickets and permits; ask a colleague when you are stuck.
  3. The PLC Programmer job simulation at Indrayani Controls, Pune: a ticket open in the Work app, MBV-102 Clarification queries on the URS, with the brief, the acceptance criteria and a request-for-information log being written in the Your RFI box
3Do the workWrite the I/O list, program a bottling line, run the factory acceptance test and handle a change request.
  4. The PLC Programmer job simulation at Indrayani Controls, Pune: the Documents app with the site rules and project standards open, MBV200-EHS-001, an approved controlled document with revision, author, standards and the rules for working on electrical equipment at Mulshi Beverages
4Follow the site's safety rulesRead the site rules, then work to them: India's own rules and standards (CEA 2023, IS/IEC, 415 V supplies, FSSAI).
  5. Colleagues at their desks in the simulated design office
5Get a debriefAfter each shift, a debrief on what you did well and what to change.

Swipe for all 5 steps.

  • Stories for your interviews

Tell an interviewer about the work you planned, the calls you made and what you handed in.

  • Confidence on day one

Emails, tickets, permits and deadlines will not be new on your first morning at work.

  • The Indian workplace

Indian companies, cities, standards and rupees, as you will meet them.

EPGDIA Self-Paced, the Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Automation (Self-Paced), is the EPGDIA syllabus as an online course you take at your own pace: 24 video lessons on Siemens and Delta PLC, HMI and SCADA, 75 self-study modules, weekly tests and 4 graded projects, practised in simulators and the free 3D lab. It costs ₹14,999 including GST, and you start the day you buy.

The syllabus is the same; the teaching is not. EPGDIA (₹24,000 including GST) has a trainer teaching 24 live online class days of 4 hours on a batch timetable, with attendance, and a final with a Siemens practical, a Delta practical and a viva. EPGDIA Self-Paced (₹14,999 including GST) has 24 video lessons, no live trainer, no batch and no attendance, 12 months of access, and 4 graded projects that count towards the certificate. Both are job-assured, conditions apply.

Yes, that is what it is built for. There is no batch, no timetable and no live class: every lesson is open from the day you enrol, and you have 12 months of access from the day you buy. About four weeks at six hours a day, or longer at your own pace.

As long as you need within your access: about four weeks at six hours a day, or longer at your own pace. Access runs 12 months from the day you buy. If you need more time, ask before your access ends; any extension is agreed with you in writing first.

₹14,999 including GST: ₹12,711 plus ₹2,288 GST, paid in full at checkout by UPI, card or net banking, with a GST receipt by email. There are no instalments. The terms: edwartens.co.in/epgdia-self-paced-terms.

Paid in full when you enrol. A full refund is available within 14 days of purchase if you have not opened any lesson; after that, or once a lesson is opened, the fee is not refundable. The full rule is in the terms at edwartens.co.in/epgdia-self-paced-terms.

The course starts from the beginning. SPG1, the first lesson, is "hardware, wiring and your first TIA Portal project". It covers automation pyramid, PLC parts and the scan cycle, S7-1200, S7-1200 G2, S7-1500, ET 200SP and more, and you program from that lesson. The self-study adds basic engineering topic by topic: electrical, motors and starters, protection, cables and earthing, electronics, instrumentation, control and PID, mechanical, sensors.

A Windows computer with 8 GB of memory or more, a reliable internet connection, and the free accounts the tools need. You practise in the vendors' simulators on your own computer (for example TIA Portal with S7-PLCSIM, under the vendor's trial or your own licence) and in the free 3D lab. There is no physical equipment in this course: the lessons show the hardware, and the simulators and the 3D lab are where you practise.

Yes. The free 3D lab at lab.edwartens.com runs in the browser with nothing to install and is included as the hands-on practice beside the vendor simulators on your own computer: 21 of the 24 video lessons and 57 self-study modules have an optional lab task, and all 4 projects can be carried out in it. It is optional and never affects the certificate.

A browser and an internet connection. The lab runs at lab.edwartens.com with nothing to install, every level opens without an account, and it is free.

Four job simulations are included (PLC Programmer, Maintenance Electrical Engineer, SCADA and HMI Engineer and Commissioning Engineer): Indian editions on sim.edwartens.com, each a working week at a fictional Indian company in a real Indian city or industrial area, with rupees and India's own rules and standards (CEA 2023, IS/IEC, 415 V supplies, FSSAI). Every simulation is open from enrolment and optional; finishing one with a score of 60 or more earns a Certificate of Completion (Job Simulation).

Yes. The AI tutor in every lesson: answers your questions from that module's own notes, at any hour, in plain words; works through practice problems and lab tasks step by step, letting you try first; never answers graded test questions, and pauses while a test is open. Ask an engineer, when you would rather ask a person. And 2 resume reviews, 2 mock technical interviews and 2 mock HR interviews, booked one to one in your portal.

Lesson and module quizzes are practice, with unlimited attempts. Weeks 1 to 3 each close with a test of 20 questions in 40 minutes, 70% to pass, which opens once that week's lessons and modules are complete; you may take it twice, at least 72 hours apart. Week 4 closes with the final theory paper: 50 questions in 75 minutes, 75% to pass. The 4 projects are graded by an EDWartens engineer against the rubric in each brief, usually within seven days; 60 marks out of 100 passes, and below that you get feedback and resubmit.

The self-paced EPGDIA is job-assured, conditions apply. From the week after you pass the final, the placement team shares your CV and arranges interviews, and keeps doing so until you receive an offer letter from an employer. To stay eligible you pass every weekly test and the final, complete and pass all 4 graded projects, attend every interview arranged for you, and apply to at least five jobs a week. The job assurance is this placement support; it is not a refund. The full terms are published at edwartens.co.in/epgdia-self-paced-terms.

The EDWartens EPGDIA Course Certificate, issued automatically the moment you meet the last condition: pass weekly tests 1 to 3 and the final theory paper; pass all 4 graded projects; have no fees outstanding. It carries a unique number that anyone can check at edwartens.co.in/verification. The self-paced EPGDIA is an EDWartens course and its certificate is an EDWartens credential. It is not a university degree, and it is not a UGC- or AICTE-recognised qualification or a vendor certification.

From the week after you pass the final, placement support starts: EPGDIA Self-Paced is job-assured, conditions apply (edwartens.co.in/epgdia-self-paced-terms). Book your mock interviews, keep your CV current in the portal and watch your job alerts.
