Why learn Siemens PLC programming in TIA Portal?
TIA Portal is the software in which Siemens' current SIMATIC controllers are programmed, and the same project holds the HMI screens and drive settings. Learning it means learning how a Siemens project is built from end to end: hardware configuration, program blocks, tags, HMI and diagnostics.
In the AEP, Siemens is the first brand taught in depth. 13 sessions of PLC programming in TIA Portal come first, from bit logic to analog inputs and PID. Then two Siemens HMI sessions, two WinCC SCADA sessions, a SINAMICS drive session and SIMATIC Manager with PLCSIM. The phase ends with the Siemens exam, theory and practical.

TIA Portal is Siemens' engineering software for its current SIMATIC controllers, HMI panels and drives. Siemens' current controller ranges, the S7-1200 and the S7-1500, are programmed only in TIA Portal. In the AEP, 13 of the 19 Siemens sessions are PLC programming in it. Older S7-300 and S7-400 projects are often still maintained in SIMATIC Manager (STEP 7 Classic), so the phase ends with a SIMATIC Manager session using PLCSIM.
Siemens is the first brand the AEP teaches in depth. Allen-Bradley follows in the same depth, then the other brands in a multi-platform phase: one programme covers 20 PLC brands. The full syllabus lists every session.

Does Siemens provide training?
Yes. Siemens runs its own industrial training, SITRAIN, and awards its own certificates. Those courses are run by Siemens.
EDWartens is not a Siemens training partner and does not issue Siemens certificates. The AEP teaches Siemens PLC programming in TIA Portal inside a longer classroom programme that also covers Allen-Bradley and other PLC brands, SCADA, HMI and drives, and ends with an experience certificate describing the project work you did.
