PLC Course in Bangalore: Syllabus, Duration and Eligibility

Ask each institute the same questions: which PLC brands you will program and whether on hardware or a simulator, how many hours you spend on panels, the batch size, what certificate you receive and who issues it, whether any placement promise is in writing and what its conditions are, and whether you can see the lab before paying. The AEP covers 20 PLC brands, including Siemens (S7-1200, S7-1500, TIA Portal), Allen-Bradley (CompactLogix, ControlLogix, Studio 5000), Mitsubishi (FX, iQ-R), Delta (DVP, AS), ABB (AC500), Schneider Electric (Modicon, EcoStruxure), Omron (CP, CJ, NX), Keyence (KV), Beckhoff (TwinCAT), B&R, GE (VersaMax, RX3i), Festo. DCS platforms (Yokogawa, Honeywell, Emerson DeltaV) are taught separately as DCS concepts and are not counted as PLC brands.

Hands-on PLC training means you wire, program and fault-find PLCs yourself rather than watching demonstrations. At EDWartens you practise on wired PLC training panels in the Electronic City classroom: writing the logic, downloading it, going online and finding the fault when the machine does not do what you expected.

The PLC course is the Automation Engineer Program (AEP), which lasts 3 to 12 months. The classroom part is 67 teaching sessions in six phases (phase 0 to phase 5), and each phase ends with a gate or exam you pass before moving on. The placement and project phase then runs from month 3 up to month 12, which is why the total depends on the phases a candidate completes.

PLC makers run their own training and certification, for example Siemens and Rockwell Automation, and those certificates come only from the maker. EDWartens does not issue any vendor certification, and the AEP is not a university or government qualification. At the end of the AEP you receive an experience certificate from Wartens describing the training and project work you did; how much weight it carries is each employer's decision.

The centre is in Electronic City, in the south of Bangalore, so from Peenya, Yeshwanthpur or the north of the city it is a long daily journey. Electronic City metro station (Yellow Line, opened August 2025) is about 300 m from the centre in a straight line. If the journey is too long, admissions can share a list of PGs near the centre.

The AEP carries a written job guarantee with conditions (all phases completed, at least 90% attendance, assessments passed, at least 10 arranged interviews attended, at least 5 applications a week, no more than 3 valid offers rejected); if a candidate who meets them is not placed within nine months of completing, the programme fee is refunded.
