From week 5, the placement team shares your CV and arranges interviews.

    Job-assured, conditions apply
Who it is for
Graduates and diploma holders in electrical, electronics, instrumentation, mechanical or mechatronics engineering, and B.Sc graduates in related subjects, including final-year students and working professionals. You need a computer that can run the course software and a reliable internet connection. You can enrol and pay online, or talk to admissions first.
You need
A Windows laptop or desktop (8 GB RAM or more, 16 GB recommended, with about 60 GB free), a webcam and microphone, and a stable internet connection. You install the course software from the checklist in your student portal before day 1.
What it is not
EPGDIA is an EDWartens course and its certificate is an EDWartens credential. It is not a university degree, and it is not a UGC- or AICTE-recognised qualification or a vendor certification.

By the end you will be able to

  • Program Siemens S7-1200/1500 PLCs in TIA Portal: logic, timers, data, analog and PID, SCL, PROFINET and diagnostics
  • Build Siemens HMI screens and WinCC SCADA with alarms, trends, recipes and reports
  • Program Delta PLCs in ISPSoft and Delta HMIs in DIAScreen, including Modbus and drive control
  • Find your way around 20 more PLC brands, other HMIs and SCADA, and DCS, from the guided self-study
  • Explain a Siemens project and a Delta project of your own in an interview

  • A trainer teaches every class live, 4 hours a day, Monday to Saturday, and takes your questions as you go.
  • On class days a Join class link appears in your student portal: you join from home, and check in at the start and out at the end.
  • Camera on while the trainer is teaching or examining; microphone muted unless you are speaking.
  • The weekly tests and the final exam are sat online too, supervised by your trainer, with your camera on.

Want to meet us first? EPGDIA trainees are welcome at our Electronic City centre for a counselling session before they join.

Your lab is virtual

Every lab is done in a simulator, so you build and test the same programs and screens without hardware. What a simulator cannot do, such as wiring or a real drive running from the PLC, the trainer shows live from the centre's lab on camera.

TIA Portal with S7-PLCSIM
Siemens S7-1200/1500 programs run and tested on a simulated PLC.
WinCC Runtime simulation
Siemens HMI panels and WinCC SCADA screens run against the simulated PLC.
ISPSoft simulation
Delta PLC programs tested without a PLC.
DIAScreen simulation
Delta HMI screens run in offline simulation; online simulation needs a real PLC on the computer's port, so that part is shown on the centre's rig.
LADX
The PLC simulator in the EDWartens portal, with virtual machines and plants to control.

Certificate and jobs

Interview practice in week 4, interviews from week 5

The last week turns your two projects into a CV and rehearses the interviews. Then the placement team shares your CV and arranges interviews, on the conditions below.

  1. EPG21Resume and LinkedIn: the CV, the profiles and the application workflow
  2. EPG22Technical interview preparation: power, starters, signals, PLC and fault-finding
  3. EPG23HR preparation and mock interviews: introduction, HR round, recorded panels
Certificate
The EDWartens EPGDIA Course Certificate, with your grade: Distinction, Merit or Pass. It names the programme and what it covered, and an employer can check it at certificate verification.
What it is not
EPGDIA is an EDWartens course and its certificate is an EDWartens credential. It is not a university degree, and it is not a UGC- or AICTE-recognised qualification or a vendor certification.

Placement: the conditions

Job-assured, conditions apply

EPGDIA is a job-assured programme, conditions apply. EPGDIA, the Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Automation, is PGDIA taught live online: 24 class days of 4 hours with a trainer, Monday to Saturday, on Siemens and Delta PLC, HMI and SCADA, labs in simulators on your own computer, about 154 hours of online study, weekly tests and a final exam. The fee is ₹24,000 including GST.

Only in where the classes happen and how you practise. PGDIA is taught in our Electronic City, Bangalore classroom with its lab; EPGDIA is taught live online, with the labs in simulators. The syllabus, the self-study, the tests, the placement support and the conditions are the same, and the certificate names EPGDIA. EPGDIA costs ₹24,000 including GST; PGDIA costs ₹26,000 including GST.

4 weeks. 24 live online class days of 4 hours, Monday to Saturday, taught live online by a trainer: 96 hours of class in all. Alongside them, about 154 hours of guided self-study in the EDWartens portal, set week by week: 75 modules (about 95 hours) that include 125 full lessons from our free courses (about 59 hours more).

A trainer teaches each class live, 4 hours a day, Monday to Saturday. On class days a Join class link appears in your student portal: you join from home through it, check in at the start and out at the end, and keep your camera on while the trainer is teaching or examining. What a simulator cannot do, such as wiring or a real drive running from the PLC, the trainer shows live from the centre's lab on camera.

You build a Siemens project and a Delta project in them that you can describe in interviews.
