1. Agreement
These terms govern your enrolment on the EPGDIA Self-Paced - Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Automation ("the course"), an online course delivered by EDWartens. By signing, you enter into a binding agreement with Wartens Automation Private Limited. Our Privacy Notice forms part of this agreement and is signed separately.
Eligibility. You confirm that you are 18 years of age or older. EDWartens does not enrol learners under 18.
2. The course
The course is the EPGDIA syllabus as an online, self-paced, recorded course in the EDWartens student portal. There is no batch, no timetable and no live class: you study when it suits you. It has 4 weeks of content: 24 video lessons (Siemens PLC, HMI and SCADA, Delta PLC and HMI, and career preparation), 75 self-study modules, a test at the end of each week and 4 graded projects. Every lesson is open from the day you enrol; the tests are taken in order (section 6).
You practise on your own computer, in the vendors' simulators (for example TIA Portal with S7-PLCSIM, used under the vendor's trial or your own licence) and in the free EDWartens 3D lab. There is no physical equipment in this course: the lessons show the hardware, and the simulators and the 3D lab are where you practise. The lessons stream from their creators' own channels or are EDWartens material; the study plan, notes, lab sheets, projects, assessments and career sessions are EDWartens material. We may improve, reorder or replace lessons during your access period, provided the course as a whole continues to cover what is described on the course page.
You provide your own Windows computer (8 GB of memory or more), internet connection and the free accounts the tools need. Third-party software and services are subject to their own terms and availability.
3. Fees, payment and refunds
- The course fee is ₹14,999 including GST, paid in full at purchase. There is no instalment plan.
- Every payment is receipted, and your payment and receipt are visible in the portal.
- Refunds. If you ask for a refund in writing to info@wartens.com within 14 days of purchase and before you have started any lesson (opened a lesson in the portal), the fee you paid is refunded in full to the original payment method, within 7 working days of our agreeing the refund. After 14 days, or once any lesson has been started, the fee is not refundable for a reason on your side, such as a change of plans or not finding the time.
- If we do not provide the course. Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under consumer law if we fail to provide the course as described, for example if you cannot get access for a reason on our side. You can raise any complaint through the grievance process in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
4. Access
- Your access lasts 12 months from the date of purchase. When it ends, lessons, tests, project submissions and bookings close; your certificate, if issued, stays valid and verifiable. If you need more time, ask us before your access ends; any extension we offer is agreed with you in writing first.
- Access is personal to you. You must not share your login, let anyone else study or sit tests on your account, or download, record or redistribute the lessons.
- We may suspend access while we investigate a suspected breach of sections 4, 7 or 8.
5. Your study
At about six hours a day the course can be finished in four weeks; at a slower pace it fits comfortably within the access period. Progress depends on you: we do not chase or schedule you, and an unfinished course is not a reason for a refund.
6. Assessments and projects
- Lesson and module quizzes are practice, with unlimited attempts.
- Weekly tests. Weeks 1 to 3 each close with a test of 20 questions in 40 minutes, pass mark 70%. A week's test opens once every lesson and self-study module of that week is complete and the previous week's test is passed. Each may be attempted twice, at least 72 hours apart.
- Final. Week 4 closes with the final theory paper: 50 questions from the whole course in 75 minutes, pass mark 75%, which opens once weeks 1 to 3 are passed and week 4's lessons and modules are complete. It may be attempted once; if you do not pass, write to us about a further sitting.
- Projects. 4 plant projects, one a week, are graded by an EDWartens engineer against the rubric in each brief, usually within seven days of submission. 60 marks out of 100 passes; below that you receive feedback and may resubmit.
7. Academic integrity
Tests and projects must be your own work. You may use AI assistants as tools in your projects, as engineers do, if you say so in your write-up and can explain everything you submit. The AI tutor in the portal pauses while a test is open. Impersonation, sharing test questions, submitting someone else's project as your own, or using unauthorised help in a test are serious breaches. Consequences range from the test or project being annulled to termination of enrolment without refund, and revocation of any certificate obtained by them.
8. Course materials and intellectual property
All EDWartens course materials (notes, lab sheets, question banks, project briefs, assessments and recordings of career sessions) remain the intellectual property of EDWartens or its licensors and are for your personal study only. You may not copy, publish, resell or share them. The programs, drawings and write-ups you produce for your projects are yours; by submitting them you allow us to grade them and keep them on your record.
9. Certification
The EDWartens EPGDIA Course Certificate for this course is issued when you have passed every weekly test and the final, passed all 4 projects, and cleared all dues. It carries a unique number and is verifiable at https://edwartens.co.in/verification. It is an EDWartens credential: not a university degree, and not a UGC- or AICTE-recognised qualification or a vendor certification. We may revoke a certificate obtained through a breach of section 7.
10. Career sessions and job assurance
Your enrolment includes one-to-one online sessions that you book yourself in the portal: two CV reviews (open once the week 2 test is passed), two technical mock interviews and two HR mock interviews (open once the final is passed). Sessions are offered Monday to Saturday, 10:00 to 18:00 IST, excluding published holidays. You may reschedule or cancel a booking up to 2 hours before it starts; a session you miss without cancelling counts as used. Sessions must be booked and held within your access period.
The self-paced EPGDIA is job-assured, conditions apply. From the week after you pass the final, the placement team shares your CV and arranges interviews, and keeps doing so until you receive an offer letter from an employer. To stay eligible you pass every weekly test and the final, complete and pass all 4 graded projects, attend every interview arranged for you, and apply to at least five jobs a week. The job assurance is this placement support; it is not a refund. The full terms are published at edwartens.co.in/epgdia-self-paced-terms.
- What counts as an offer. An offer letter from an employer, issued to you in writing, counts as an offer. Placement support ends when you receive one, whether it came through us or not, and whether or not you accept it.
- How long it lasts. There is no time limit: placement support continues until you receive an offer letter, for as long as you keep meeting the conditions above.
- What it is. The job assurance is this placement support: sharing your CV and arranging interviews. It is not a refund, and no part of the fee is repaid if you are not placed. It is not a promise of any particular employer, role or salary.
- Conditions. If you stop meeting a condition, for example by missing an interview arranged for you or not applying to five jobs in a week, you are no longer eligible for placement support.
The Placement Policy and Job Guarantee of the Automation Engineer Program does not apply to this course.
11. Practice environments run by EDWartens
The 3D lab (lab.edwartens.com) and the job simulations (sim.edwartens.com) included with the course are run through edwartens.com by Wartens Ltd, United Kingdom. When you open them from the portal we pass your name, email address and learner identifier to edwartens.com so that your work is saved and your results come back to your portal. Their use is optional and never affects your certificate.
12. Suspension, withdrawal and termination
- You may stop studying at any time. Whether any part of the fee is refunded is as set out in section 3.
- We may suspend or end your enrolment for a serious breach of sections 4, 7 or 8. Where we end it for breach, no refund is due.
13. Liability
We deliver the course with reasonable skill and care. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for interruptions in third-party software or services the lessons use. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing in them affects your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version you signed is recorded against your account and continues to govern your enrolment unless you agree to a new version. Where a change is material we will ask you to review and sign the updated version.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Bangalore, Karnataka, India have exclusive jurisdiction, except that nothing here limits your right as a consumer to file a complaint before the Consumer Commission where you live or work, under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
