Can I practise without DeltaV?
DeltaV is licensed software, so most learners follow the lessons closely and re-draw the configuration on paper or in the free PID and Instrumentation courses' simulators. Employers with DeltaV usually provide Virtual Studio access during induction.
Is this an operator or an engineer course?
Both. The operator modules cover DeltaV Operate, faceplates, alarms and history; the engineering modules cover Explorer, Control Studio, I/O and advanced control.
Which lessons were left out?
One members-only playlist and a few unlisted or unreachable videos; their topics are covered by public lessons from the other creators.
Is the course really free?
Yes. Every module, practice task and assessment. You create an account so your progress is saved and the assessments can be marked. The certificate is the only paid item, and only if you want it.
What certificate do I get, and is it an Emerson qualification?
An EDWartens Certificate of Completion, issued when you pass the final assessment, with a verification code anyone can check. It is not an Emerson credential and is never described as one.
