AWS Certified AI Practitioner (AIF-C01) Exam Preparation
Preparation for the AWS Certified AI Practitioner exam (AIF-C01), organised around the five domains of the exam guide revised on 30 April 2026: AI and ML fundamentals, metrics and the ML lifecycle, managed AI services, generative AI and token cost, Amazon Bedrock, RAG and Knowledge Bases, agents with MCP, Strands Agents, AgentCore and Kiro, prompt engineering, customising and evaluating models, responsible AI and Guardrails, and security and governance. Preparation for the exam, not the AWS certification itself.

The course project · about 10 hours
Designing a maintenance manuals assistant on AWS: requirements, RAG architecture, guardrails, evaluation and governance
Design a generative AI assistant that answers technicians' questions from a plant's equipment manuals and procedures, the way an AI Practitioner would present it for approval: the requirements, the AWS architecture with a Bedrock knowledge base and the services chosen, the token volume and pricing mode, a guardrail specification, a risk register, an evaluation plan with results, and a governance register. A working demo in Amazon Bedrock or PartyRock is optional. The sample pack shows each document for a desalination plant in Oman.
Sample document pack, 5 documents, filled in for the scenario

- PlanSolution architecture and service choices
- Risk registerAI risks: maintenance manuals assistant
- Test reportEvaluation report: pilot of the manuals assistant
- RegisterGovernance and security controls register

Requirements
- Who it is for
- Beginner. For engineers, IT and OT staff, graduates and managers who want a first cloud AI credential. No coding, machine learning or AWS experience is needed; comfort with a web browser and basic arithmetic is enough.
- Software
- A web browser. A free AWS account for the optional Amazon Bedrock practice tasks: new accounts on the AWS Free Tier free plan receive credits that cover them (check the current terms and set a zero-spend budget alert first). PartyRock, AWS's free no-code playground, replaces the account for the prompt tasks. AWS Skill Builder's free exam-prep course and practice question set are recommended. What to download, and how
- Hardware
- None.
Software you need
What to download, where from, what it costs and how to install it. Every link goes to the maker's own site, never a mirror.
Nothing to install
A web browser is enough for every module; a free AWS account is optional for the Amazon Bedrock tasks, and PartyRock needs no account at all.
Optional
Useful, not needed to finish the course.
- 01Free plan: 6 months with credits
AWS Free Tier
Amazon Web Services, in the browser
- Runs on
- Any modern web browser
- Account
- An AWS account, with a credit or debit card for verification
New accounts can choose the Free plan: starting credits plus more earned by trying services, usable for up to 6 months. You are not charged unless you upgrade to the Paid plan. The Free plan account closes after 6 months or when credits run out; data is kept for 90 days, and you must upgrade to get it back. Over 30 services stay free within monthly limits.
Steps
- 1.Open aws.amazon.com/free and click Create a free account.
- 2.Enter your email, account name and contact details.
- 3.Add a credit or debit card. AWS makes a small verification charge that is refunded.
- 4.Verify your phone number, then choose the Free plan.
- 5.Sign in to the console and set up a budget alert before you start labs.
- In India, accounts are usually set up with AWS India (AISPL); the card check is a small refundable charge.
- Delete lab resources when you finish so they do not use up credits.

A shareable EDWartens certificate
Finish every module and pass the final assessment, and the optional EDWartens certificate is yours. It carries a unique verification code on a public page anyone can check, so it stands up when a recruiter looks it up. See it below.
The course itself stays free whether or not you ever buy one.
Stuck? Ask a practising engineer
A free course usually means a comment section and hope. This one does not. Every module has an Ask-your-trainer panel that reaches the same engineers who teach our paid programme: people who commission panels for a living, not moderators.

Common questions
Is this the AWS Certified AI Practitioner certification?
No. It is preparation for AWS's AIF-C01 exam, organised around the exam guide version 1.1 published on 30 April 2026 (checked on 5 October 2026). The AWS Certified AI Practitioner certification is awarded only by AWS to candidates who pass its proctored exam, which you book and pay for with AWS through Pearson VUE. EDWartens is not affiliated with AWS, and every practice question here is original.
What certificate does the AWS Certified AI Practitioner course give?
An EDWartens Certificate of Completion, issued when you finish the modules and pass the 15-question final at 60 percent, with a number anyone can verify on our site. It is a certificate of completion for a preparation course, not an AWS certification, and it is never described as one.
Is the course free to learn?
Yes. Every module, the notes, the practice tasks, the project and the final assessment are free. Only the EDWartens certificate is paid, if you want one. The AWS exam itself is booked and paid for separately with AWS.
Does the course cover the 2026 exam changes such as AgentCore, Strands Agents and Kiro?
Yes. The April 2026 guide added agentic AI, the Model Context Protocol, Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, Strands Agents, Kiro, Bedrock Prompt Management, token-based pricing, context engineering and LLM-as-a-judge. A whole module covers agents and the notes cover every added objective, because some popular videos were recorded before the revision.
Do I need an AWS account or coding skills?
No coding is needed; the exam does not test it. The hands-on tasks use the Amazon Bedrock console with a free AWS account on the Free Tier free plan, or PartyRock, which needs no account. Every task can also be done on paper from the videos and notes.
Who is the AWS Certified AI Practitioner course for?
Engineers, IT and OT staff, analysts, project managers and graduates in India, the Gulf and elsewhere who want a first cloud AI credential and need to speak confidently about AI on AWS. The exam guide's target candidate has up to six months of exposure to AI on AWS and uses rather than builds AI solutions.
How long does the AWS Certified AI Practitioner course take?
About 14 hours of video, notes and practice at your own pace, of which about 9.4 hours is video. The optional project takes about 10 hours more. Most learners plan four weeks before booking the exam.
What should I take next?
Generative AI and LLM Foundations and RAG and Chatbots with LangChain go deeper into building what this exam describes, and AI Agents and MCP for Engineers covers agents in code. For a second exam, Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals (AI-901) Exam Preparation covers the same ideas on Azure.
Is the AWS Certified AI Practitioner course free in India, and what does the certificate cost?
Yes. Learning costs ₹0 in India: every module, the written notes, the practice tasks and the final assessment, with no card and no trial period. The only paid item is the optional EDWartens Certificate of Completion, ₹459 including GST for this beginner course, paid in rupees through Razorpay, and only if you want it after passing the final assessment.
