Press-brake safety retrofit on a CPU 1214FC: SRS, F-program, validation to ISO 13849-2

Design, program, test and validate the safety system for a 100-tonne hydraulic press brake: E-stop, a Type 4 light curtain muted only at creep speed, two-hand control, a locked rear guard and feedback-monitored contactors and valves, on a CPU 1214FC with SM 1226 F-DI and F-DQ modules. You deliver the safety requirements specification, your own I/O list with F-addresses, the F-program with its collective signature, and a validation report with a measured stopping time. The sample pack shows what a machine-safety integrator hands over.

2. 2.Download TIA_Portal_STEP7_Safety_WinCC_V21.iso (8.1 GB).
3. 3.Download S7-PLCSIM_V21.iso (2.5 GB) from the same page: PLCSIM is a separate download.
4. 4.Right-click each ISO, choose Mount, and run Start.exe as administrator. Install STEP 7 and WinCC first, then PLCSIM.
5. 5.Follow the setup, accept the licence terms and restart the PC when asked.
6. 6.Open TIA Portal V21 and create a new project to confirm it runs.
- Install from a local drive with plenty of free space; Siemens lists 20 GB free as the minimum and the ISOs alone are over 10 GB.
- You only need DVD 2 if you want extra hardware support packages.
- If you cannot install locally, Siemens also offers a 21-day TIA Portal Cloud trial in the browser (one-hour sessions, not in every country).

Does this make me a certified safety engineer?

No. It teaches the Siemens implementation of functional safety; formal certification (TÜV FS Engineer and similar) is a separate path this course prepares you for.

Is the S7-1200F covered?

Yes, alongside the S7-1500F and ET 200SP fail-safe modules.

Is the Siemens Safety Integrated course really free?
