My page closed or refreshed during the final
The short answer
Open the final again: you come back to the same paper while the clock keeps running, but the answers you had chosen are not kept, so choose them again. A paper never submitted does not use up an attempt.
Time left?
Is there still time on the 60-minute clock?
Yes
Reopen the final: same paper, choose your answers again.
No
It shows Not submitted and costs no attempt.
Don't worry: reopen the final from your course and start it again. If your time has not run out, you return to the same paper, with the same questions in the same order.
Two things to know:
- Your chosen answers are not kept when the page closes or refreshes. Go through the questions and choose your answers again before you submit.
- The clock runs on our server, not in your browser. Closing the tab, refreshing or losing your connection does not stop it, so come back as soon as you can.
If the clock reaches 0:00 while the paper is open, it is submitted for you with the answers on screen, and that counts as one attempt. If you are away when the time runs out, the paper shows as Not submitted and does not use up an attempt.
If the exam will not open in full screen, it still works. For browser or connection problems, see Which browsers and devices work?.
