What happens if I fail the final?
The short answer
Try again: you have 3 attempts, each with a fresh paper. After the third, wait 24 hours. Your review shows the right answers, so revisit those modules first.
If you do not pass
Attempts 1 to 3
Try again at once, with a fresh paper
After the third
Wait 24 hours
Then
A fresh paper, and the count starts again
Nothing is lost. Failing the final does not affect your course or your account.
- The result shows how many you got right against the pass mark of 60%.
- On the course page's exam, open Review your answers to see which ones you missed, with the correct answer and an explanation where there is one.
- Choose Try again with a new paper when you are ready. The screen shows which attempt you are on, out of 3.
After three attempts that did not pass, there is a 24-hour wait. When it ends you get a fresh paper, and the count starts again.
Use the gap well: go back over the modules you missed and their notes, then try again. Mock exams are timed practice papers that explain every answer.
