How can an employer verify a certificate?
The short answer
Scan the QR code, or go to Verification and enter the certificate ID or registration number (with the holder's full name for a registration number). The page shows the name, course, date and status.
What do you have?
What did the holder give you?
The certificate or its QR code
Scan the QR code, or enter the certificate ID.
A registration number like AEP08WI01
Enter it with the holder's full name.
Only the name and course
Use By Name & Course.
Every certificate has its own number and a QR code. There are three ways to check one.
- Scan the QR code on the certificate, which opens its verification page.
- Go to Certificate Verification, stay on By Registration Number, and enter the number in Registration Number. An online-course certificate ID (it looks like EDW-IN-2026-00412) works on its own. A classroom or online programme registration number (it looks like AEP08WI01) needs the holder's Full Name as printed. Then choose Verify Certificate.
- If you have no number, choose By Name & Course, enter the Full Name exactly as printed and pick the course or programme.
The page shows the holder's name, the programme, the certificate type, the issue date and the status: Verified, Expired or Not Valid (withdrawn).
The name is asked for so that a registration number on its own cannot be used to walk through our records.
If a certificate you hold will not verify, see How do I reach a person?.
