Free Online Engineering Labs You Can Open in Your Browser
Practice that does not wait for a plant visit
Most electrical, instrumentation and mechatronics students in India finish a degree or diploma having seen a PLC panel only through a glass door, and a working technician rarely gets spare time on a live plant. The EDWartens Lab is built for that gap. It is a set of free engineering labs that open in your browser, on a laptop or a phone, with nothing to install.
The video above is a quick tour. In under half a minute you see a 3D plant, a control panel being wired, a process plant with tanks and a pump, a data workbench, an AI data centre hall, a solar and EV site and an OT security control room.
What each lab is for
The PLC lab is where you write ladder logic and watch a plant respond. The panel lab is for wiring a motor starter the way an electrician would. The robotics lab gives you a robot cell and a teach pendant. The process lab lets you look at tanks, pumps and a control room. The substation and MCC lab practises safe isolation, and the solar and EV lab practises commissioning in the right order.
There is also an AI workbench for working with data, an AI data centre hall that shows a heat map of cooling, and an OT security room that is clearly marked as a simulated plant, so no real system is ever touched.
How the jobs work
Each lab gives you a real job, not a slide. You do the steps in 3D, and many jobs end with an acceptance test that marks your work. If you take a step too early, the lab refuses it and tells you. That is how a good supervisor on site would correct you, and it is much cheaper to learn it here.
Who it suits
B.E. and B.Tech students who want to see the subject before a campus placement season. Diploma and ITI students who share one trainer kit among thirty people. Freshers who are preparing for a first automation interview. Technicians who want to try a topic, such as a robot or a solar site, before asking for that kind of work.
You can open a lab without wasting a class hour on set-up. If a lab takes you further and you want to practise on real wired panels with a trainer, our Bangalore classroom programmes are the natural next step, but you do not need them to use the lab.
Try it now
Pick one lab that matches the job you want, spend twenty minutes in it, and note what confused you. That list of questions is the best study plan you can get. Open the free EDWartens Lab in your browser.
The lab is free to start and runs in your browser. Sign in free if you want your results recorded.
For classroom practice, our PLC course in Bangalore: syllabus and duration sets out what is taught and for how long.
