How do I keep track of jobs I applied for?
The short answer
Use My Applications in the Career menu. Bookmark a role from Openings, or add one by hand, and update its status as it moves from Applied to Shortlisted, Interviewing, Offer, Rejected or No response.
Record an application
Openings
- Click Bookmark the role
- Click My Applications
- Click Update the status
You see where each one stands
My Applications (also titled Job applications) is in the Career group of your portal menu. It records everything you have applied for and where each one stands.
- Apply to the role on the employer's own site.
- Record it: on Openings, choose the bookmark on the role. Or add one by hand: type the Company, the role, and a Link to the posting. You can also log a batch you sent in one day, with How many.
- As things move, change the status on each application: Applied, Shortlisted, Interviewing, Offer, Rejected or No response.
The page shows how many you sent this week against a weekly target, how many are still live, how many are at interview, and how many offers you have.
Keeping this up to date is also how you know what to follow up. If you are on a paid programme, applying to jobs and attending interviews are among the conditions of the placement terms: see What placement help is there?.
